The Waiting Day

So today is the "waiting day." Gma and Gpa were the only ones who spent the night with us last night; Aunt D and Cousin RD and her husband MD arrived this morning. Most of the rest of the family is arriving this evening. That hasn't stopped the family fun, though.

After the chefs made a commissary run for today's groceries (because starvation is ALWAYS a concern at these reunions...), there have been assorted activities to pass the time while we wait. Of course, there has already been a game of euchre. The John Deere puzzle was quickly finished, but the 9 square puzzle is still being worked on. The pad of paper and mathematical figures have been thrown around with it, and it's still not done. Aunt D, Cousin RD, Gilligan, and I took a leisurely walk up the beach. A rousing game of Life is currently being played, while Gpa is playing solitaire.

The older crew members were able to catch up on their journal writing, so that's terrific.
Tonight's dinner is all South Carolina: Shrimp and Grits and Beaufort Stew, with collards on the side. We'll see how many days I eat collards for lunch...
